Delivering digital experiences that matter to Canadians at GTEC Summit

Following our presentation at the ENAP event a few weeks ago, we continued exchanging with folks from the public sector by exhibiting at last week’s GTEC Summit, held at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa and sponsored by Adobe.

The event brought together extraordinary speakers who focused on themes related to delivering digital experiences that matter to Canadians thanks to modern technology. Visionaries such as John Mellor from Adobe talked about how the business experience wave is just as relevant to the public sector as the private sector and how engaging citizens through digital experiences is more important than ever before. In the afternoon, we had the honor of sponsoring the first ever Adobe Experience Manager User Group held in Ottawa. The user group was an initiative first started by INM in 2012 in Montreal, with the goal of bringing together users of the Adobe Marketing Cloud and creating a community. With growing popularity, we are looking to expand the group to also include an Ottawa chapter.

During this user group, we had three presentations centered around the topic of Adobe Experience Manager. To start of, Anne-Marie Valin, Configuration Lead, and Mario Bonito, Team Lead  from the Services Canada Web Renewal project talked about their experience of having AEM at the core of their mandate and the importance of understanding and respecting AEM architecture before extending it.

Next, Daniel Obadia, Front-Line Developer  from INM talked about web Accessibility legislations and guidelines and gave an overview of past AEM projects for which we built the INM AEM Accessibility Checker tool to facilitate the lives of authors and ensure compliance.

And to close off the user group, Jasmin Charbonneau, Multi-Solutions Architect at Adobe, highlighted the top features of AEM 6.2.

Overall the information presented and the discussions had during networking hours continue to confirm that digital marketing efforts are converging more and more around delivering the best digital experiences and the importance of using a digital engagement platform to achieve this goal.
